Portfolios

CorkAP was started in June 2008 by 8 friends who studied the photography evening course at Crawford College of Art and Design during 2006 – 2008.

We enjoy the method of producing fine art prints by hand using just light, chemicals and paper. Within the group subject matter and styles vary. What binds us is the love for the medium of photography with a keen interest in the processes that make film photography an enduring yet experimental practice.

Cork Analogue Photographers are –

Jason Dunne

Originally from Wicklow, Jason Dunne first studied photography in 1997 as part of a PLC course but has been interested in photography from an early age. He utilises the surrounding natural environment and prefers to use natural light where possible in his work. His main interest is photographing people in natural poses. Jason is currently studying Geographical Information Systems at UCC.

Brian Dunne

Brian Dunne is an electrician from Cork. His interest in photography began about four years ago when Brian bought his first camera. His love for photography continued to grow with Brian now focusing all of his energies on fine art black and white film photography. He has an eye for landscape shots and Brian likes nothing more than “getting away from it all” with his camera and the fresh air.

Rory O’Toole

Rory O’Toole has had a love of photography since his late teens. Mostly self-taught through endless reading and picture making, he completed the two year night course at Crawford College of Art and Design in 2008. His work in this exhibition was made using a low tech Holga camera, which produces square negatives and a blurry, dreamy version of reality. Rory is the writer, editor and chief bottle washer of Cork Analogue Photographers website.

Ann O’Kelly

Ann O’Kelly’s interest in photography has been developing since 2001. From landscape, Ann has recently taken her work to the studio for a closer examination of objects and people. At present, Ann is looking forward to continuing a photography project with the Traveller Community in Tallaght in autumn 2009.

Pádraig Spillane

Pádraig Spillane is a photographer from Cork. After completing a philosophy degree in Dublin, he returned to Cork to study photography in the CCAD.
